When you think of New York, you often think of the hustle and bustle of these roaring streets. You think the nightlife, the fashion, the “city that never sleeps”. I have always found a huge inspiration in New York, so when I started talking projects with Elie Tahari, the hair on my neck stood straight up! I collaborated with them as well as Dream Hotels on this project to highlight my favorite pieces of the Elie Tahari FW15 men’s collection.
We shot on location at the new Dream Midtown Hotel in a massive presidential suite that Dream Hotels calls, “The Guesthouse”. This 3 bedroom literal apartment was high up overlooking all of midtown and gave an incredible view into Columbus Circle! The room filled with natural light and flowed through out all the bedrooms, living area, bathroom, and kitchen space. I was like a kid in a candy shop when I opened the door to this beautiful suite, and I instantly had a wave of inspiration and I knew it was going to be a great shoot!
ELie Tahari’s FW 15 men’s collection is filled with clean cut silhouettes with many different contemporary touches, giving each garment that uniqueness we think of when we hear the name, Elie Tahari. In my opinion, they have mastered classic cuts and silhouettes at a contemporary level, which is not an easy thing to accomplish. I live for unique quality fashion, and I was so proud to represent this shoot with Elie Tahari because all the garments had so many unique details unlike anything I have seen before. The collection runs various shades of blue, grey, and black, so I knew I wanted this shoot to have a sort of dark style ambience and all natural lighting to help bring in the dark natural tones for these shots.
