The saying, “There’s no place like home” is a phrase we all can relate to. That feeling of unwinding after a long day, or returning after a long trip, our home base is a place of love, comfort and serenity. We often forget how much we love the place we call home until we are away from it and running on a different everyday routine than the one we are originally used to. Los Angeles is my home base for almost a year now and with the sunshine everyday mixed with warm weather, the beach and basically anything else you can think of, I have nothing but great love for this city. Even in just one year I have experienced so much in this powerhouse city from making friends, visiting popular places, finding my everyday places to grab coffee, get lunch or just enjoy my day. Coming from NYC originally where I walked or used public transportation to get around during my day to day, Los Angeles on the other hand is much more spread out. Without a car in this city I rely on UBER to successfully complete my duties everyday, and with parking, valet and other expenses, Uber is actually more convenient than having a car. I am so happy to be partnering with Uber on this post to show some of favorite places in LA from hotspots to my personal favorite places, this guide will surely have something for everyone.
Guide To Los Angeles
Starting my day off I love to get a great workout in to get my blood flowing and wake me up for the day ahead. I believe the harder you work in the morning the more powerful your day will be. I am up at 6:30am usually and catching an uber to Barry’s Bootcamp, a high intensity interval training bootcamp class combining treadmill running and weighted floor exercises. Barry’s is a very tough workout that pushes you to limits to further yourself in your workout goals. I have seen insane amounts of changes in my body and everyday stamina from this workout, I’m obsessed! After a hard workout it is necessary to feed the muscles you just worked, so I always grab a smoothie at the “Barry’s Fuelbar” that is at every Barry’s Bootcamp location. Other workouts in Los Angeles that I love to do are:
– Y7 Yoga
– Orange Theory
– Playlist Yoga
When I have my smoothie I usually walk around the Hollywood stars and then I’ll grab an uber and head to get a coffee or tea before heading home. My all time favorite coffee shops are Alfred Coffee and the sister shop, Alfred Tea Room. Both are very popular places among us LA folks. A must try is a matcha latte from Alfred Tea Room, it’s one of the most popular items, and don’t forget to get your photo in the pretty pink walled shop, everyone does it. Next, you guessed, I grab an Uber home to get ready from my day.
My day is usually filled with meetings, photoshoots, and back to my home office to dump photos to my computer, or write out posts for the week. With the constant back and forth, Uber makes it easy and convenient to be able to use the time I sit in traffic to continue working instead of worrying about driving, it’s something that I would never give up because I get so much more done with just those extra minutes. I like to make my meetings more of a relationship building experience instead of heavy business ended, so I love to do lunch meetings somewhere nice, usually outside to enjoy the perfect weather we are spoiled with in Los Angeles. One of my all time favorite places to grab lunch is, The Beverly Hills Hotel. It’s a super trendy and hip hideaway in LA that let’s you escape the hustle and bustle and enjoy a meal outside on the pool deck. The food is also one of my favorites. They have the best french fries and tuna poke bowls in all of LA!
Some other great places to eat in LA are:
Los Angeles has so many things to do and see that make it so unique. Something I really love to take advantage of is the vintage scene here in LA. I love to browse vintage shops for clothes and especially for furniture! I found a hidden gem in LA for vintage and repurposed furniture ran by a single owner out of a warehouse space. The shop is called, The Hunt Vintage, and they take old vintage furniture and repurpose it to bring it up to high quality standards. They can also make just about anything you would want, if customization is something you are into. I love to spend some of my afternoons browsing all the amazing pieces being done.
After an afternoon of running around and getting things done, I like to reward myself and head out to Santa Monica to see the sunset on the beach or enjoy the pier with some friends. However on the way I will usually stop at my favorite ice cream shop, Salt & Straw to grab a cone to enjoy as well. This place is a must visit if you like ice cream, which I think most people do, there is always a line of people out the door, but it is well worth the wait! Grab a cup or cone and head to the beach to enjoy the end of the day at one of the best places in all of LA. With Uber you won’t have to worry about parking or valet ticketing, and with their prices in LA it is unbeatable. No time limits, no remembering where you parked, no walking to your destination, just arrive and go!
